Last week 40 members attended a workshop at the Tyee Vineyards with Erik Sandgren.   He is an exceptionally good workshop instructor and spent time with everyone.  I completed two paintings as well as a number of sketches.

 

We had a great turnout this week and Mike Rangner gave an excellent lesson.  A few people followed his advice, however I just did my usual wonky thing.  Notice that the mill does have a water wheel.  I continue to encourage members to send me images of their paintings for this blog.

Erik Sandgren workshop 2011

The workshop is on June 22 -24 at Tyee Vineyards.

We were rained out this year however I do have a painting that I started at last years downtown event.  This is what the Corvallis Hotel might have looked like in the 1940′s (minus the attitude).

Our first Vistas and Vineyards paint-out of the year was at Garlands Nursery in Corvallis.  It was also the first really nice warm day of the year.  This is the entrance to the nursery done in my “wonky” style.  It was suggested that I get my eyes fixed!About 20 members showed up to paint and Dee Yarnell was our facilitator.
